Some ideas start out on the back of a napkin then get transferred to legal paper or into Execl and just die. Using MS Project requires truly knowing project management. You can be a master at MS Word, but not write correctly to save your soul. When I teach you how to use Project, I can either turn you into a real project manager or take the project manager (PM) in you to a whole new level.
Topics Include:
- Defining a project
- Knowing what a PM does
- Creating a project plan with resources
- Baselining a project
- Mergeing projects for the PMO in you
- Posting tasks to SharePoint so everyone on your team doesn't have to have Project.
- Creating that timeline for which your supervisor is always screaming
- Importing your plans from Excel
- Publishing your plan so everyone who needs to know can see what they are supposed to see
- Learn how to track the progress of your plan
- Using Project so you can quickly answer, "When will it be done?" and/or "How much is it going to cost?"
